We pray to you now, God of the spirits of all flesh to use your infinite power to end these acts of bloodshed and terror spread peace across the earth and bring joy to all its inhabitants so that the words of the prophets can be fulfilled: “The warriors bow will be broken and peace will be promised to all peoples” (Zechariah 9:10) “God will judge the nations, and arbitrate between many countries they will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks nation shall not lift up sword against nation neither shall they learn war anymore.” (Isaiah 2:4) And let us say Amen. |

This prayer for peace in Ukraine was co-written by the Masorti Movement in Israel and the Rabbinic Assembly in Israel, and read by Rabbi Ori Friedland (Hebrew) and Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg (English) in an international prayer service organized by Masorti Olami in solidarity with Ukraine and the Jewish communities therein. I have transcribed the prayer from the Hebrew shared by the Masorti Movement in Israel over their Twitter account, and transcribed the audio of the English translation from that read by Rabbi Wittenberg.
